Sorea shares, together with Agbar’s Customer Counsel, its commitment to people and consumer rights in a conference in Granollers
Sorea and Agbar’s Customer Counsel Office organized the conference “Alongside people: the water service and consumer rights” in Granollers. The meeting, which also included the participation of the Catalan Consumer Agency, the Regional Council of Vallès Oriental, the Vice President of the Forum of Local Ombudspersons and Granollers Town Council, served to highlight Sorea’s social commitment and consumer rights actions.
Sorea’s Director of Clients, Montse Solé, remarked during the encounter that, in 2016, the company assigned €63,000 to Social Funds in the Vallès Oriental and Moianès regions and that it works together with the social services of the municipalities to prevent any families with financial problems from having their supply cut off. The company, which supplies water to 25 municipalities in these two regions, has identified a total of 612 users in a situation of vulnerability in these two regions, where the total number of users is 127,381 (with a total of 276,751 people supplied).
Agbar’s Customer Counsel, Sergi Sanchís, stressed the good work carried out in Sorea’s customer service offices. According to Sanchís, dialogue with the user and active listening are the keys to strengthening relations with the parties and generating a framework of mutual trust. 96% of the cases which affect Sorea are resolved through dialogue.
Josep Mayoral, Mayor of Granollers, valued the collaboration with the company very positively. For her part, Montserrat Ribera, Director of the Catalan Consumer Agency, indicated that public-private partnerships are very positive to tackle cases of energy vulnerability. Ribera stressed that no claim has been lodged for non-compliance with the energy poverty law in relation to water supply companies.
